2004 Whistler Summit Series Tournament Dates Released

WHISTLER, British Columbia (CP) -- The annual Whistler Summit Series Hockey Tournament will be held May 28-30, 2004 at beautiful Whistler, British Columbia. All Tournament games will be held at Meadow Park Sports Centre, located just minutes from Whistler Village. The tournament will begin with all teams playing their first game on the afternoon of Friday, May 28, 2004. Other games will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2004. The finals will be held early on the afternoon of Sunday, May 30, 2004. The tournament is limited to ten teams with each team playing a minimum of three games.

Team-building

The Whistler Summit Series Hockey Tournament 2004 promises to be one of the highlights to the Ironmen Hockey Club season. It is a great tournament and if you were not able to be with the club for last season's tournament, you will not want to miss it! Those that participated last season will tell you it was a great time and a great team-building event.

The cost for the 2004 Whistler Summit Series Hockey Tournament includes three games guaranteed and tournament provided incentives & prizes. Accommodations are the responsibility of each individual member of the hockey club and are not included in the tournament fees. The Ironmen Hockey Club can book accommodations on behalf of any team member. If you would like the team to arrange your accommodations, please contact the team manager.

2003 Lester B. Pearson Award Winner: Robert Nikkel
At the conclusion of the 2004 Whistler Summit Series Hockey Tournament, the members of the hockey club will be asked to vote for the team's tournament Most Valuable Player. Centre Robert Nikkel's play in the 2003 tournament, earned him the Lester B. Pearson Award as the Ironmen MVP. The Lester B. Pearson Award is the annual award presented to the Ironmen Hockey Club player who is judged by his teammates to be the most valuable player in the Whistler Summit Series Hockey Tournament. The award is named after the late, Lester B. Pearson, former Prime Minister of Canada.

 
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Tournament Fees

  • Tournament Cost is $100.00 per player for players that are on the 2003-2004 Ironmen Hockey Club roster.
  • Tournament Deposit of $25.00 per player is required by January 15, 2004.
  • Tournament Balance of $75.00 is required by May 1, 2004.
